The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been intense.
The first season presents a large cast of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.
The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator stated earlier this year. "However I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.
That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.
"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."
She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.
"I've seen a couple people create a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
